Built in 1704 for Captain George St. Lo, this grand mansion is the oldest intact naval building in Great Britain. The Resident Commissioner was an important personage with direct responsibility for running the Dockyard. His house stands at the centre of the site and today provides impressive spaces for private hire which can be completely tailored for your event. Commissioner’s House also has a spacious walled garden, with an excellent view of Rochester, and a private bar.
The venue comprises of several rooms to suit all kinds of events, from day meetings to team building, product launches to private corporate dining. Hire the whole space for an evening event or just one room for a smaller more intimate option. Venue hire in this fantastic venue is always exclusive.
The Ballroom: (in Commissioner’s House):Flooded with natural daylight, Commissioner’s House Ballroom is an ideal room for corporate away days, training sessions and product launches!

With views overlooking Commissioner’s House gardens and the River Medway, the Sunne Room is located on the first floor and provides a warm and welcoming space.
This traditional Georgian style room is ideal for board meetings, breakfast meetings, team building and private dining events and gives easy access to additional breakout spaces on the same floor.

Hire of any room within Commissioner’s House includes access to the patio and stunning landscaped gardens.
Adjacent to our main site entrance, and Mess Deck Restaurant, the Namur Room is a great private hire space, available for both room hire only or with catering included.
The space is adaptable to suit a variety of event types and includes use of a TV screen and flipchart to make your presentations seamless.
It is accessible for all and offers parking directly outside.

Built around 1808, the Church was used by Dockyard workers as well as Sailors and Marines that came to the port. Marines would march from the barracks along Dock Road, through the Main Gate all headed by a band. The Marines occupied one side of the galleries and the Sailors the other. Dockyard officers and families, with the workmen of the Dockyard and visitors filled the pews.
Nowadays, the Royal Dockyard Church is home to a state of the art 200 seated lecture theatre perfect for conferences, previews, training and product launches. Complete with fantastic AV kit and complimentary parking just a 5 minute walk away, this venue offers beautiful architecture in a stunning historic location.
Opening in September 2023 but the diary is now open for viewings and bookings.
