Situated in an inspiring Grade 2 listed building in the heart of Medway, with ample free car and coach parking. Coupled with good bus links and just a short walk from the nearest train station, it’s never been easier to get here.
We have a choice of locations within the museum to utilise for a meeting or social event. We are open to the public Tuesday-Sunday, 10am - 5pm (last entry is 4pm), but outside of these times, access for events can be organised.
The museum itself is packed with an eclectic assortment of objects drawn from the Sappers' international adventures over their 300+ year history. Take in one of the most important military collections in the UK with items such as the unique Waterloo map (used by the Duke of Wellington to plan the Battle), Chard's revolver from the Battle of Rorke's Drift, an awe-inspiring V2 rocket and one of the largest sections of the Berlin Wall outside of Germany. This tells the story of the Corps of Royal Engineers. You can follow this story yourself as the galleries guide you through the early days of the Corps, from their earliest roots in the middle-ages, through to formalisation, Gibraltar, Waterloo, the Victorian campaigns and into the conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries. Discover how the Engineers grew from military architects and specialists in siege craft to using pioneering combat engineering techniques - from diving, surveying and flying to photography and the world's first usable guided torpedo.
Royal Engineers Museum can accommodate up to 600 for trade fairs
